Pepe Coin (PEPE) and Boba Inu (BOBA) are both meme tokens that have captured the attention of the crypto community. While PEPE is based on the well-known Pepe the Frog meme, BOBA is inspired by Boba Cat, the adopted cat of Dogecoin co-founder Billy Marcus.

PEPE made its debut in April 2023 and quickly rose to fame, experiencing a staggering 900% increase in value within just two days of its launch. BOBA, on the other hand, was launched in May 2022 and gained attention when the community sent over 1% of the total supply to Billy Marcus’ tip wallet.

While $PEPE has no real-world utility, BOBA distinguishes itself by having a non-profit organization, the Boba Inu Society, which supports pet shelters worldwide and promotes blockchain technology to non-profit organizations. The project also boasts attractive tokenomics, with a burn mechanism, liquidity tax, and DOGE rewards on every transaction. Holders of BOBA receive Binance-Peg Dogecoin tokens depending on their BOBA holdings.

PEPE, on the other hand, has no official affiliation with the original Pepe the Frog cartoon character. Its only notable feature is that it features Pepe as its mascot. Despite this, PEPE has garnered a strong following, with the official Twitter account describing it as the “most memeable memecoin in existence.”

While both tokens have their unique features and appeal, BOBA stands out for its commitment to supporting pet shelters and promoting blockchain technology to non-profit organizations. PEPE’s success lies in its association with the popular Pepe the Frog meme. It remains to be seen which of these meme tokens will continue to capture the attention of the crypto community and stand the test of time.
